Top 10 Dentists In Las Vegas
June 29, 2009
Being on vacation never protected anyone from getting injured, and if you think about it, getting hurt while away from home must be especially rough. So in the event that something goes wrong with your mouth in Las Vegas (look out for angry drunks and bad food on buffet lines that may cost you some teeth) here are 10 of the city’s best dentists.
1. Advanced Dentistry - This operation has received top marks from a significant number of people, and there doesn’t seem to be a bad review in existence.
2. Aura Dental - Let’s admit it right now: there may not be a whole lot we can say about different dentists. But this place is also about as popular as a dentist’s office can get.
3. Town & Country Dental - Patients tend to receive follow-up “how are you doing?” phone calls from the dentist who runs this establishment, which is very admirable on his part.
4. Alfred Thresher, DDS - This dentist seems to have a strong fan following, even among individuals who are difficult to please. The staff’s efforts are appreciated, too.
5. Nevada Oral & Facial Surgery - This practice apparently does great work when wisdom teeth come into play.
6. Benjamin Glick, DDS - Still more positive reviews indicate that this dentist does a good job.
7. Desert Oral Surgery - If this place proves easier to reach than similar practices, you shouldn’t go wrong by visiting it. Happy individuals have left it good reviews.
8. Heavenly Smiles Dental - Geography may again become a factor here, as Heavenly Smiles Dental is technically in Henderson.
9. Adaven Childrens Dentistry - If you want to make sure there’s lots of fun, brightly colored stuff in the waiting room as opposed to the latest Wall Street Journal, this establishment ought to fit the bill.
10. Noteworthy Dental - Noteworthy Dental lives up to its name, with reviews indicating that the practice does a solid job.
Top 10 Breweries In Las Vegas
June 22, 2009
Let’s be honest: good beers aren’t hard to find. But discovering new ones can still be a fun process, and having a good place to drink them is very important. So here are some of the best beer-oriented establishments in Las Vegas.
1. Main Street Station Hotel - If you’re going to do some serious drinking, you don’t want a drive (or long walk) in a strange city ahead of you, right? This place has very good food and drink under the same roof as a lot of beds, and prices should be quite affordable.
2. Barley’s Casino & Brewing Company - A whole lot of five-star reviews depict this as a beer-drinker’s heaven. Excellent pizza from wood-fired ovens is available, too.
3. Chicago Brewing Company - The lunchtime dining service is supposed to be less than excellent. But for food at dinnertime or for beer whenever, this is a great establishment.
4. Tenaya Creek - Here’s a cool place to go when you want to drink without being elbow-to-elbow in suited and sequined individuals. Very good food and beer.
5. Ellis Island Casino & Brewery - Quality barbecue, pizza, and beer are all available here at reasonable prices. There’s also karaoke here if that’s your thing.
6. Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - A favorite for business lunches, with some interesting choices on the menu. Perhaps a little more ritzy than pub-like.
7. Bj’s Restaurant & Brewery - The pizza and fish and chips are supposed to be quite yummy here. But it might not have quite the strong focus on beer that some other places boast.
8. Triple 7 Restauarant & Brewery - This is liable to be a good choice on both the food and drink fronts. Locals often go here, but not in such a way that visitors will feel unwelcome.
9. Brewery Bar & Grill - Here’s a business that is supposed to have a good selection of beers on tap. Just consider doing your eating elsewhere, as the food may not be quite so great.
10. The Monte Carlo Brew Pub - This place seems to have Lance Burton, rather than beer, as its main draw. But you can tell from its name that the wonderful liquid is important here, and, well, Las Vegas just doesn’t have that many dedicated breweries in it.
Top 10 Bowling Alleys In Las Vegas

With their bright lights and iffy (but plentiful) food, bowling alleys are perhaps some of the most Vegas-like places you can find in other parts of America. So let’s see what Las Vegas itself has to offer in the way of buildings in which you can hurl smooth balls.
1. K & K Bowling Service. Well, this place does own the URL bowlinglasvegas.com. And as the name implies, it offers all sorts of bowling products and services beyond what you might find in other, smaller establishments.
2. South Point Hotel Casino & Spa. True, the word “bowling” isn’t even in this business’s name. But bowlers with families should appreciate having a ton other entertainment options under the same roof, and bowling prices are quite reasonable.
3. Jillian’s Of Las Vegas. Another sort of family-friendly atmosphere here, but with the added benefit of guaranteed live bands all summer.
4. Santa Fe Station Hotel/Casino. Ah, Las Vegas, the land of everything within arm’s reach. Here you’ll be able to find an ice-skating rink and a bakery among other items of interest.
5. Showboat Hotel Casino & Bowling Center. Honestly, the data’s a little thin on this place. But it’s received high ratings nonetheless, so it may deserve points for maintaining an air of mystery.
6. Buffet @ The Gold Coast. Let’s just admit it: everybody gets old. And if you’re a little “up there,” this place may suit you as it tends to draw that crowd. Also good for folks who are just old at heart and tired of loud 20- and 30-somethings.
7. Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel. Feel like mixing a little southern flavor into your Las Vegas experience? The Texas can handle that. Another plus, depending on what sort of atmosphere you want, is simply its off-the-Strip location.
8. Sunset Lanes & Casino. Here’s a place known for being clean, and in a place like Las Vegas, that’s something worth noting. It’s also popular with kids, as it has a gaming area.
9. Terrible’s Town Casino & Bowl. The name alone is good for a laugh. Otherwise, this is said to be a decent, smoke-free place.
10. Wildfire Lanes & Casino. Food, sports, bowling, and a gay, lesbian, and bisexual bar are all on the figurative menu here.
